I have a 200 Mbps internet connection and a small amount of data, so I choose the Local or Cloud Backup option. If you have a slow internet connection, or just a massive amount of data, you may want to do the hybrid option. Once the wizard starts you get to choose if you want to store your backup data in one location or a hybrid of two locations. You have both file level and imaged based backups in CB Backup Desktop Edition To get started select Files or Imaged Based from the top ribbon. As I said before I will be using Azure, so from the Welcome tab I needed to click the plus icon beside of “Storage Accounts”. Create a Backup Storage LocationĬreating a storage location is pretty easy, as everything is wizard driven. I choose Azure Blob storage because I am familiar with Azure, and already had an account created. Once you figure out where you want to send your backups step 1 is to create a Backup Storage entry. I challenge you to find some type of backup storage that CB Desktop Edition doesn’t support! (HAHA Seriously, what is Dunkel? I totally thought that was just great German beer!) I initially downloaded the free version, but when I was asked to do a review, I received a license key to enable to paid version features. To bring you up to speed, I’ve been using CloudBerry Backup Desktop Edition to protect my desktop for over 3 months. (Server backup is similar but a separate product.)

Back then it was called CloudBerry Online Backup, it’s now called Windows Desktop Cloud Backup. I'll report back if I find anything useful.It has been a few years since my first look at CloudBerry Backup. I'm going to speak with the team next week to get some additional background on this feature. It's not a great solution, but it will get the job done.The alternatives are to use a different product for this one-off copy or to simply start a new backup plan to Wasabi. You will lose parallel uploads and that may slow down the process. And when you restart, select Freeware mode. To do this, you need to release your license from the Help menu. Freeware has no encryption support, so it will simply copy the files. You can use Explorer to copy the files in Freeware Mode. I'm still checking at my end to see if there is a work-around for this other than what I'm going to suggest. But if you do that, the files are decrypted during the copy operation and they will no longer be backup files.

However, as it stands today, Explorer recognizes the backup files, and tries to restore them using the encryption password you can set up in Options - Compression & Encryption. ↪Jackie Gibbs I agree with you that Explorer should copy the files as is - or at least have an option to ignore that they were backed up with encryption using one of our other products.
